On Demand Webinar: When You Can't Maintain Payroll - WARN Acts & Unemployment in the COVID-19 World

Posted on 06/02/2020 at 10:42 AM by The Newsroom

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many employers to think about ways to cut payroll due to government-ordered and voluntary business closings and operational limits.  Whether you are reducing working hours, laying off, or terminating employees, your business needs to consider various legal risks and requirements, as well as programs supporting impacted workers. As the pandemic lingers, employers are revisiting these decisions because what was thought to be short-lived is being extended.

If you could use some guidance on how to best manage your payroll in these times, this On Demand Webinar can help. It originally aired on May 27th in conjunction with the Tri-State Human Resource Association. The Employment & Labor Law Attorneys of Dickinson Law cover the federal WARN Act and state WARN Acts of Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin regarding how they apply to these decisions, as well as new federal unemployment programs providing help to affected employees.
