Dickinson Bradshaw is pleased to announce that Shareholder Attorney Blake Hanson has been elected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF).
The ABF Fellows is a global honorary society that recognizes attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession and to the welfare of their communities. Blake joins ABF Fellows from nearly 40 countries who hold a wide variety of influential roles. Membership is limited to just one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by their peers and selected by the ABF Board.
As a litigator, Blake’s practice at Dickinson Bradshaw includes serving clients in the areas of personal injury, transportation, professional liability, election law and professional licensing. He has previously been recognized by the American Bar Association (ABA) with the “On the Rise” Top 40 Young Lawyer Award recognizing him as one of the top 40 young lawyers in the nation “who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and service to the profession and their communities.”
In addition, Blake has served in a number of community leadership roles, including Chair of the City of Des Moines Transportation Safety Committee, Legal Representative for the Drake University Head Start Program, Board of Directors for Everybody Wins! Iowa and as an advisory board member for both the ISU Honors Program and Ready to Run Iowa, a non-partisan training program through the Catt Center that encourages women to run for elective office, position themselves for appointive office, work on a campaign, or become involved in public life as leaders in their communities.
An independent, nonprofit organization, the ABF was founded in 1952 by the American Bar Association (ABA) and seeks to expand knowledge and advance justice through innovative, interdisciplinary, and rigorous empirical research on law, legal processes, and legal institutions.
