We’re excited to announce that Abby Crabtree and Isaac Strohman have joined Dickinson, Bradshaw, Fowler & Hagen, P.C. as Associate Attorneys.
Abby Crabtree
Abby was a Summer Associate at Dickinson Bradshaw in 2025 and earned her Juris Doctor in May of this year from the University of Iowa College of Law. She also holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in Ethics and Public Policy.
Abby’s practice at the firm will focus largely on general litigation. With an upbringing and strong interests in farming, she will also provide clients with services in environmental law, land use law and litigation, and administrative law. Abby also plans to continue working in estate planning and probate law.
“I’m happy to join the firm to give back to the community and serve Iowans,” she said. “My experience as a summer associate in 2025 truly solidified my interest in starting my practice at Dickinson Bradshaw because of the collaborative environment and the ability to learn from attorneys who are experts in their fields,” she said.
While at the firm, Abby is interested in exploring additional areas of law to add to her law practice.
“Already, I’m taking on new challenges and learning about new areas of law that interest me so I can provide my clients with the services necessary to meet their unique needs. To that end, I enjoy working with people and driving towards a solution to the problems that impact their lives.”
While completing her education, Abby held leadership positions at Iowa Law, including terms as Vice President and President of Graduate and Professional Student Government, and as a Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Corporation Law.
She also gained valuable legal training serving as a Judicial Intern in 2024 for Judge Donovan Frank for the United States District Court, District of Minnesota; as a legal assistant at Herbold Law PC in Iowa City from 2022 to 2023; as Secretary of the Environmental Law Society from 2024 to 2025; and as a volunteer with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.
Outside of work, Abby and her husband, Spencer, recently relocated to Des Moines and are busy getting to know their new neighborhood. Spencer is a high school English teacher, starting his fifth year of teaching.
Together, they enjoy hiking, exploring the miles of bike trails around Des Moines, visiting art museums and historic buildings, and gardening.
Isaac Strohman
Isaac was also a Summer Associate at Dickinson Bradshaw in 2025, and he graduated from Drake University Law School in spring 2026 with his Juris Doctor. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Iowa, and a master’s degree in public administration from Drake.
Isaac’s practice at the firm will focus primarily on the areas of banking and finance, employment, and general litigation, as well as other areas that he intends to explore in the coming years.
“I joined the firm because I was familiar with the strong reputation of several attorneys, plus I had a great experience as a Summer Associate,” Isaac commented. “I look forward to gaining exposure to various areas of law that the firm provides.”
Prior to attending law school, Isaac worked in banking and state government for several years, most recently as a Credit Union Examiner for the Iowa Division of Credit Unions, and an Investor Reporting Analyst for U.S. Bank in Chicago.
“I was drawn to the legal profession as a way to advocate for others and to solve their legal issues,” he said. “In my practice, I plan to use my unique perspective of how credit unions operate within their regulatory framework, along with the valuable professional experience I’ve gained, to help position my clients for success.”
While attending Drake Law, Isaac was a summer law clerk for RSH Legal in 2024, and a legal intern in the Iowa Senate for Senator Izaah Knox. He also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law, and gained valuable experience working with immigrants and refugees at the Drake Legal Clinic and through volunteer work with Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice.
Isaac and his wife, Kelsey, reside in the Drake neighborhood with their two daughters, Ava (9) and Quinn (5), along with their cat, Annie.
When he’s not busy building his practice or spending time with his family, Isaac enjoys listening to music, visiting coffee shops, catching a move at the Varsity Cinema, watching sports, reading, politics, and gardening.
