Three New Dickinson Bradshaw Shareholders Named

Dickinson, Bradshaw, Fowler & Hagen P.C. is pleased to announce that attorneys Matthew Blake, L. Lars Hulsebus, and Nicole Proesch have been named shareholders of the law firm.
Matthew Blake
Matt’s practice at Dickinson Bradshaw primarily specializes in real estate and land use matters, including residential and real estate brokerage work, and elder law. He joined the firm in December of 2023 after serving as the General Counsel of the Iowa Association of REALTORS since 2022 and previously worked representing nonprofit aging service providers at the Iowa Capitol.
Matt earned his J.D. from Drake University Law School and a B.S. in History and Political Science from the University of South Dakota.
As an active military officer, Matt serves as a Judge Advocate (JAG) in the Iowa Army National Guard. He was a member of the Urbandale City Council from 2019 to 2023 and is currently seeking a seat in the Iowa State Senate.
L. Lars Hulsebus
At Dickinson Bradshaw, Lars advocates for clients in high-stakes disputes of all kinds. Over more than a decade as a civil litigator, he has represented individuals and small businesses, as well as some of the largest companies, banks, and asset management firms in the world. He is experienced litigating in state and federal courts, handling arbitrations and mediations, and representing clients before agencies such as Iowa Workforce Development, FINRA, and the SEC.
Lars earned his J.D. from Georgetown University, and a B.S. in Political Science and Journalism from Drake University.
Before joining the firm in October of 2022, he practiced litigation in New York, first at the international firm Willkie Farr and Gallagher LLP, and then at the litigation boutique Dewey Pegno & Kramarsky LLP. Prior to becoming an attorney, Lars worked as a news reporter at The Des Moines Register.
Nicole Proesch
Nicole’s practice at the firm focuses primarily in the areas of Employment Law, Education Law, and Administrative and Licensing Law. Prior to joining Dickinson Bradshaw in early 2023, Nicole served in a variety of legal roles as a private attorney, a Story County prosecutor, and as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Des Moines.
She gained extensive knowledge in the areas of Employment and Education Law as General Counsel and Investigator at the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, and as the General Counsel and Administrative Law Judge at the Iowa Department of Education where she spent nearly eight years.
Nicole obtained her J.D. degree from Drake University Law School, and she earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Graphic Design from Mount Mercy University.
