Dickinson Bradshaw Welcomes Grant Gasner
Posted on 10/06/2025 at 01:39 PM by The Newsroom
We are pleased to welcome Grant Gasner as an Associate Attorney in the Litigation Division of Dickinson, Bradshaw, Fowler & Hagen, P.C., representing individuals and business clients in a broad range of civil matters.
“I’m looking forward to using the knowledge I’ve gained and my ability to practice law to help individuals and make a positive impact for my clients,” he said. “With a wide array of practice groups and areas, I’m grateful to become a part of such a prominent and professional firm within the Des Moines metro community.”
Prior to joining the firm, Grant served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Tyler J. Buller of the Iowa Court of Appeals. He also worked as a Law Clerk at Dickinson Bradshaw in 2024 and as a Summer Associate in 2023. In 2022, he was a Summer Associate at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll in Cedar Rapids and a Legal Intern at Legal Aid Society of Story County.
With an impressive educational background, Grant earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2022 in Communication Studies from Iowa State University (Summa Cum Laude) and completed the 3+3 law program at Drake University and Drake University Law School, earning dual Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctorate (Distinction with Honors) degrees in 2024.
While at Drake Law, Grant served as Executive Editor of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law, Vice President of the Moot Court Board, and was appointed one of six Legal Writing Fellows. He also gained valuable practical experience as a Student Attorney in the Drake Law General Civil Clinic and as a captain of the ABA Moot Court team. Alongside his MBA, these experiences provided him with a unique mix of business acumen, legal writing, and advocacy skills before becoming an attorney.
“In my practice, I plan to approach relevant issues from a business perspective,” Grant said. “This method can help proactively balance risk with a client’s objectives.”
Grant grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa, enjoying all the typical lake activities—from swimming to boating and waterskiing. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with loved ones, biking around the Des Moines trails, and exploring non-chain restaurants.
He also enjoys supporting local breweries, which inspired him to write a legal journal note while at Drake Law that explores the history of the beer industry, laws that favor Big Beer monopolies, and the importance of protecting the craft beer trade in the United States.
You can find “Battling Big Beer: Beer Industry Monopolization Leaves Small Breweries Little Room to Compete” published in the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law Green Issue here.
