Nicholas Ahlquist Joins Dickinson Bradshaw

We’re pleased to announce that Nicholas Ahlquist has joined Dickinson, Bradshaw, Fowler & Hagen, P.C. as an Associate Attorney.

Nick’s practice at the firm will focus on helping individuals with their estate planning and wealth management needs. He’ll also be providing legal services to business clients, assisting with their transactional work, regulatory compliance and real estate matters.

“I’m excited to start my practice at Dickinson Bradshaw,” Nick said. “After serving as a summer associate last year, I got to know a lot of the attorneys, so I knew it would be a great place to start my legal career.”

While pursuing his education, Nick also served as a summer associate at the Heidman Law Firm in Sioux City in 2023. He graduated with his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law in May of this year.  

Before he attended law school, Nick earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in history and secondary social studies education from the University of Iowa, and taught high school social studies at Urbandale High School for five years.

“I enjoy helping and working with people and I’ve always had an interest in the law, so I wanted to pursue a career that allowed me to serve clients and communities in many different and exciting ways,” Nick said. “I look forward to being a valuable resource for my clients.”

Nick is a native of Sioux City and recently relocated back to Des Moines with his wife to start the next chapter of their lives and grow their family. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and watching the latest shows and movies.

“We love taking long walks with our dog or playing frisbee, and our dog enjoys chasing our cat around the house,” he said. “The two provide constant entertainment.”
